Rikke speaks! Again! And rambles! Again!
(Also, heads up: trying to substitute half my coffee intake with hot chocolate and tea, so chances of incoherence are vastly higher than normal. Ye be warned.)
HELLO HELLO YOU LOVELY LOT.
So, I pre-ordered the Beautiful World DVD because I still have no spine when it comes to these boys. I have no regrets. Still, though, does anyone know if the new single is for Ohno's drama? If so, then I'll have to order that as well. /eyes wallet sadly.
Easter is coming up (YAY!!) which means some days where I won't have to be up at ass o'clock and slave away with my readings. Instead, I'll sleep in and then slave away with my readings, with a pinch of panic because I slept too long, probably. Oh life. Past two weeks have been stupidly hectic - make that three weeks. I filled in last weekend at work because the woman I share the stable work with has beenkicked out told to go away, and my boss is the sneaky sort, so he just waits until Friday night and goes all doe-eyed (through the phone, it's a real feat!) and "Can you come this weekend as well? *bats eyes*". And fool that I am (or too helpful, or just don't want to say no), I said yes. Then I had my own weekend at the stables, and Sunday was one of my least favorite days of the year (probably only beaten by April 1st) where we entered summer time, so I lost an hour. Oh joy. Nothing like looking at your alarm, seeing it's 6am but your body is telling you it's 5am. Anyway, I got finished up early and got permission to go home, and then I watched Formula 1 (which had been stopped for some time because of rain in Malayasia, that's amazing timing, Malaysia, I think I might love you!!).
This coming weekend is going to epic, if only for the fact that I have a four day weekend and I can sleep in all four days. Counting on getting some writing done, y/y?
I've gone and put deposit down and set the date for my new tattoo, so in June, yes yes yes :D
At work yesterday, I got insulted for existing. Thank you, random angry lady customer, I'm pretty sure that I exist only to trouble your life. /rolls eyes. Basically, she asked for help with a printer, which she got, and then she dismissed me, and I went on my merry way. Five minutes later, she gets back to me and says that she's decided on which printer she wants, and when I asked her for the name of the printer so I could go and get it for her, she just went "WELL YOU CAN COME AND LOOK, CAN'T YOU, or are you too fucking lazy to go look for yourself, you sorry excuse for a human being." Now wasn't that joyful? Training just made me smile and go look and then bring her the damn printer. My boss might've wanted to throw a fit when I told him, but oh well. Bygones and all that.
I also had the pleasure of a customer holding a pair of winter boots in his arms, asking I could find him a different size? I blinked at him for a bit, then sort of pointed at my name tag, which clearly says "electronics department", and then he went "Well, you all share the same warehouse, right?" and yes, we actually do, but I wouldn't even know where to begin. The warehouse is, to put it mildly, a big mess. I mean, I know where the items for the electronics department are located, but that's it. I was very tempted to just put the man out there and then tell him to help himself, because I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be able to find his way back to the store from the warehouse.
When I went to get food during my break, I got asked if I knew if we had any more chandeliers. What is my life?
In other news, I have finally completed Boblemon's fic, just short of 16,000 words, and I am so damn happy about it. Gati is reading it over right now, so it'll surface sometime in the coming future. At least it's finished! I've started a few pieces, just for fun, but other than that, I won't write with any sort of goal right now, because I feel like I need a bit of break. Writing is for my own personal enjoyment, and I think I need to find that again. I also think it would be fun to write something like Bonfires again, short chapters, (attempted) humor and no real plot. Just for fun. Let's see if I even know how to write short pieces anymore, I feel like I might have a vicious, albeit unconscious, vendetta against writing short pieces.
(It's Thursday so I'm in the library - there's a guy here who's such a douche, but he doesn't have the decency to also be unattractive - he's ungodly gorgeous. The unfairness is excruciating at times.)
I'm going to watch A Midsummer Night's Dream tonight with my mom and I am so excited! The play has been getting really good reviews and I can't wait for it. It also reminds me of when I went to watch Shakespeare Unplugged, where one of the actors said "I played Shakespeare's Bottom for a while" and I might've have laughed until my stomach hurt. Now I just want to read The Tempest again. Huh.
My mom and I went to watch Hugo last week, and it was extremely good. I pretty much just want it on DVD right this instant so I can watch the crap out of it.
Also, I'm planning for Gati's visit in late April, I'll get her for four whole days and then a bit. I'm so excited, there are few things better than Gati hugs. And Gati laughter. Excited. EXCITED.
So, flist, what shenanigans have you been up to lately? Good things only, I hope, for all of you!
Lastly, I would embed this video, but embedding has been disabled, so I'l link you instead. It's Adam Lambert's version of Smokey Robinson's The Tracks Of My Tears (the performance starts around 1.08). The lyrics are a very special brand of heartbreaking, so vulnerable, and if you're used to Adam's oft seen riffs and runs, then you'll definitely enjoy this stunning, tender and restrained rendition. Smokey Robinson himself gave Adam a standing ovation after the performance, Simon judged it as the best performance of the night, and Kara lost all ability to count because it was so stunning ("I have six words for you: One of the best performances of the night." Really, Kara? Really?) Watch it, you guys.

Date: 2012-03-29 12:43 pm (UTC)My bet is on Aiba's drama as they have already said that Aiba's theme drama song will be sung by Arashi. It's not a double-A single too which makes me think that Ohno's drama theme song won't be sung by them. of course they can announce another single at a later time but I think it's too tight in-between.
Unless he gets another solo single again which i doubt so actually. =\
Hoho, I used to work in a bookstore and I've had customers asking me if we sell boardgames or toys for kids.....
ooooh a tattoo!!! you have mentioned the idea of getting one right?
