I literally have no words for the concert last night. It was so far beyond any concert I've ever been to before.

Patrick Wolf's voice is so wild and raw and so damn effortless. Nothing in the world is as intense as Armistice live.

I met him at the meet and greet before the concert, and holy crap, I didn't know he was that freakishly tall, but he was super nice and cuddly in his sweater and lskfhdsfhkjshf no words. Got my picture taken with him and signed my copy of Lupercalia ♥ Might have squealed a bit when he let go of me, who knows xD

Now, we all now my failtastic memory, so I can't remember the rest of the exact order, but I do remember all the tracks because I wrote it down first thing when I came out of the venue I am that awesome.

It was his first visit in Copenhagen and he said that because of that the setlist would differ a bit from the rest of the tour, so he played a ton of his older songs cue me being super happy. Everyone was incredibly engaged and enthusiastic, and he brought the house down the moment he stepped on stage. Started out with a shorter, less-bombastic-than-usual version of Hard Times and launched directly into Time Of My Life, which was an awesome way to properly kick the concert off. Everyone singing along to the chorus; "happy without you" was amazing. Then it was House and that's just such a charming song.

Teignmouth got played relatively early, which wasn't a favourite for me before the concert, but oh well, I just that easy. He sang a lovely version of Pigeon Song, and he changed the city to Copenhagen, of course. He then introduced Tinderbox (and omg, rare song is RARE) as a song inspired by a book that changed his life - a book by H.C. Andersen, so he felt that it was appropriate to play it in Denmark. He played Bermondsey Street and The Future in rapid succession, and Together, and when he played the first few notes of Tristan everyone went nuts. Screaming and jumping and clapping, it was intense. I think he played Slow Motion at that point, but I can't remember, because I was busy trying not to die from being knocked breathless by the entire thing. He also played an absolutely stunning rendition of The Falcons, which is one of my favourites. Then there were To The Lighthouse and Armistice and, and then it was The Magic Position. I don't remember which number it was here, but I bet I've already mentioned it, and then he finished the entire concert with The City.

I'm not lying to you when I say that during The Magic Position and The City, everyone just. I don't know, I think everyone had a mutual experience of these are the best songs in the world and if you don't go crazy you'll regret if forever. I still had ringing in my ears when I got home, because the recation to Tristan? This was insane in comparison to Tristan. The City's  catchy chorus "Won't let the city destroy our love" just made everyone jump around dance, so awesome.

Anyway, he started the concert with a lovely black fitted jacket with silver linings, and when he took it off he just gradually unbuttoned more and more buttons on his dress shirt. Also, his earpieces? THEY ARE BEDAZZLED. So awesome. He came out in a silvery/glitter-tastic shirt later, and for the encore? A dotted black/white pyjamas. I was amused.

Okay, so I talked briefly about his voice before, but holy crap, it is gorgeous and smooth and rich and. I want to curl up in it forever. He is also stunning in real life, no words will do him justice. He's an insanely talented musician and he effortlessly switched instruments during the songs, from keyboard, harp, ukulele, viola. His band also played the sax, the clarinet, flute, bass, contra bass, drums and guitar, so thumbs up of for diversity.

His songs are amazing live, and especially The Magic Position is phenomenal live, it just somehow felt like more compared to the recorded version. After a night spent in the presence of him and his gorgeous voice. I was literally stunned into speechlessness, so in awe. And yes, my ears were ringing, and yes, I can still feel the bass in my heart, and no, I don't have much voice to speak of (hurhur) today, but. It was so worth it. I really hope he'll come back next year, he said he would do his best.

It also needs to be said, that during Bermondsey Street, he looked so proud when he sang: Now you know, love knows no boundaries / Sees beyond sexuality / And holds the sun in the palm of its hand / And laughs down on the cynical man. I think everyone screamed their throats hoarse in trying to make him proud ;)

He said the customary Danish phrases, "tak" and "godaften", which means "thank you" and "good evening", respectively. And he's just such a kid, he looked shy and so pleased with the enthusiastic crowd, oh my god, so cute. He looked so happy to be here, and I hope the reception here made him seriously consider coming back.

I don't think I've really processed it yet, but I'll just soak in it for a long time.

On that note, I'm so ready to tackle three days of intense J-popcon. Now I just need to pack and shower, and then I'll resurface at some point on Monday. Take care, loves!
