Kiss me now in the backlight

Hello hello, you lovely lot! My goodness, life is skjdhshfkjshk, approximately. Have had some really long days at uni this week (including ditching class to watch Brave /slaps wrist), work and a ton of other stuff that just piles up. I'm heading into a weekend busy with work work work and more work, I have to be at the stables at 8 both Saturday and Sunday to let out the horses (I'm weeping, I thought I was done with being at the stables at that time of the day, weeping, okay?) and I want to watch Formula 1 (from Japan!) and. The days are several hours short.

But it's not all stressful, fret not. I've been baking a really effing lot and I've been widening my horizon and tried out a ton of new recipes, and for the most part, it's been going really well. If you're dying to share recipes, I'm all ears, just saying.

Fandom wise, I haven't been writing spectacularly much. Part 9 of Muses is finished, however. Part 10 is almost finished. I'm working on some other projects, including one of the really overused clichés in fandom, probably only below the amnesia trope. /sweatdrop.

Just a quick question to all: which clichés are the most cliché in fandoms?

And I've pre-ordered Popcorn, flailed an absurd amount over Arafes even though I can't take the name seriously. I've been diving face first straight back into Tokio Hotel fandom, it's been ages since I've been listening so much to them and it's. Phenomenal. And I really really miss TH pre 2009, but oh well. I can roll around forever and happily in the music they made then, it's fine with me. If I occasionally wish Bill would still look like he did in 2007, well, we all have our unreasonable wishes, don't we? Still. So damn lovely. Will watch concerts with BFF and cry a bit. (Edit: Sobbing at Geisterfahrer and Spring Nicht)

I will also need to rewatch TIME concert because the lovely [livejournal.com profile] bulkyass was kind enough to flail all over twitter about it the other day, so now I just want to watch it again again again again. That is, when I've paused my stint back in TH, I will watch it. I'm also simultaneously gearing up for Patrick Wolf's new album, Sundark & Riverlight, and I absolutely refuse to download it, I know it's online somewhere, but I'm waiting for my physical copy to arrive, damn it, see I'm being a responsible fangirl for once?

You will all also have to worship Flawless Queen Adele for her James Bond theme Skyfall, (bought it, love it, will probably build an altar to it, just watch me) and oh my goodness, new Lana Del Rey album in November? I am so on board with that. If we're getting a proper version of Serial Killer I might actually faint from goodness. Yes, really.

Had a long talk with a long-distant friend last week, which was really pretty phenomenal, such a fantastic experience, really. We talked a lot about writing, which was something I realized later that I had needed to, because she doesn't know me, anymore, she doesn't know how I write, what I write for and why I write. And it was pretty amazing to just speak about my writing and she doesn't know what I put into the characters and why they feel the way they do. It was very humbling and freeing, somehow both at once. Very difficult to explain, but trust me when I say it was just that.

At the end of this, I'll just leave you with this and I will go write a bit.

Tchüss <3

Yes! Skyfall! The theme song by Adele - I love it. *drools( Mum said it's Bond day today and we're having a Bond marathon~

It is indeed so very lovely, and it really is very Bond-esque compared to the last two very forgettable (and horrid) tunes. I heartily embrace the return of the Bond clichés in the music. Also, it would be really lovely if we could get done with Daniel Craig already.

I know, it's like the type you'd expect from Shirley Bassey. I can't even remember the music to the previous 2 Bond films. I did know that the Danish chap playing Le Chiffre must be very handsome under the make-up, but that was about it. Oh, and i was excited to see Tosca in Quantum as that's my favourite Puccini opera. And that was it. XD

Yes, exactly! I knew I couldn't be the only one thinking of Shirley Bassey. The most recent theme was done by Jack White and Alicia Keys and it was a horrid affair, you really aren't missing out on any musical genius here. On the contrary. And really, the Danish actor is just so far on the opposite end on the attractive scale - he actually does look like he did in the movie, he's. Well. Let me tell you, he's not exactly my type, let's leave it at that.

My first thought on hearing Skyfall was "Shirley Bassey". That's the image I want with Bond. Ah... I still can't recall the music to the previous two, and I don't want to bother. Oh! I must have been very kind to that chap then. I was trying to see what was under the make-up. XD

"Diamonds Are Forever" is pretty much my favorite James Bond theme, so we're definitely in agreement on that. And you'd be doing yourself a disfavor in looking up the music, it is seriously not worth it. You're so kind, but he's really not worth it. He's very unfortunate in the looks department.

Same here. It's my ultimate song to listen to when I have break ups too! I heard it at M&S today whilst admiring the leather driving gloves. I won't bother with the dodgy music and stick to the classic Bond standards.

Heya girlie :D

HAVE MY FAVOURITE RECIPES: i've made the pumpkin one i think four or five times since July. In fact, gonna make it again tomorrow 8D

http://www.raspberricupcakes.com/2011/05/salted-malted-chocolate-chip-cookies.html
And I've made the cookies three times I think. So good, though.

I ALSO WANT TO MAKE SOMETHING FROM HERE. http://eatthisfood.net/category/recipes

And re: cliches. I think the one wherein both characters like each other but doesn't think the other wants them/they're not good enough and so they dance around each other for an excruciating amount of time.

Hello!
I'll be passing on the pumpkin as I'm allergic, but thank you anyway! I will definitely check out the sites though, thank you :)

Ah, clichés, yes, I agree. It's done to death, as well. I'm really hoping I can work with this one, though.

yesyeessyesssyessyes! I saw it on adele tv and it is so sensual, lovely, with such strong and beautiful vocals .... from this alone I might actually dig up and own some of the rest of her music.

And yes the luminous, and wonderful indescribable Shirley Bassey does spring to mind. I is excite about the Bond movie ... I actually do love Daniel Craig quite a bit ... unfortunately. Then again I am indiscriminate sometimes ... Bond could be Jason Statham (I know worse right.... ) and I'd love him. ^_^

Also I thought the amnesia thing WAS the most cliched thing in fandom ... this is almost universal across most of the fandoms I've been in. You name it I've seen it, in X-men-first class, Avengers, my many anime/manga fandoms, Bones (that it's happened in canon makes me think that the writers trawled fanfiction and picked it) and ohhh yes not to mention Buffy. Ahahaha!

Another one is the star crossed lovers a la Romeo and Juliet, or the High School ones and amongst the High School ones .. the Host Club scenario is quite popular as is the Hana Yori Dango set up ... .. go figure!

And I love Brave! It was stupendous ... although I felt that there could have been more made of the little backstory to the original 'curse' story, but that is just me being greedy for a good story to be more than it already is. ^_^

*HUGSHUGSHUGS* - busy is as busy does, the children are having exams over the next few weeks. And an ice rink just opened near our place so even if it is a little expensive, the boy is going every day that he can. He loves it! So yes I wake up early Saturdays and Sundays so I can take him (it gets really crowded later on and it isn't fun when it's so crowded. We have 4 million people and one ice rink on this island and two small ones. So yeah). I do get to hang out with the boy one on one, so that's all good... eheh and no I give the skates a miss. I think where that is concerned I have two left feet. *shudder*

And really I should go make "I'm still alive" noises at my own journal huh? Love and hugs.

And whoa speaking of F1.It was spectacular, in a 'watching a train wreck' kind of way ( at some points, almost literally) . The kind of torment the drivers' loved ones must go through. As a spectator I think it's wrenching enough, but I don't think I'd survive as a mother or wife or girlfriend. Also it was all up in the air whether it would go on. The nigh race I mean. But for the moment, the novelty of being the only Night Race on the F1 calendar still draws in big money, so the Powers that be have decided to keep it for another 5 years. Till 2017. So you still have time to save up and come here one year and we'll watch it together! Yes yes! Love!

In spite of having to wake up at the crack of dawn ... I do hope you have a brilliant and lovely weekend. More love!

Nee-san, I missed you. We should meet up again before the year's out. Love and hugs. <3 And hurrah for the new Bond coming out. Mummy's still having her Bondathon (aka, watching selected Bond movies as part of her marathon).

GO AND WATCH TIME. And you know I totally had to flail. You're lucky I didn't post caps like how I did with AAA 08 xDDD

Miss you <3 And I agree, life is just so. SO.

Nothing in particular to comment, just so good to read about what's going on with you. RL has been eating much of my time as well and it's just nice to hear about your life <3

OOH NEW LANA DEL REY ALBUM. WANT.

Saving the new Muses chapter for tonight.
