Who wants to be right as rain?
/dying. My icon for this post pretty accurately sums up my feelings about the past two days.
I feel like I should apologize to the few new friends I've made in the past few weeks (I actually typed "feeks", my brain apparently decided that "few" and "weeks" could be shortened, I'm not all there, alright) that the first posts you get from me are alarmingly detailed and TMI about me being ill. Apologies. (I typed "Apollogies". ...I'm clearly invested in my studies, okay.)
Anyway, I'm almost completely up to date with my comments and oh my god, that is a first this year, methinks. Figures it's because I'm ill and frantically trying to amuse myself and not keel over from the massive migraine that is threatening to erupt at any given moment. You guys, I am so unattractive right now, so much snot in my head, it's not pretty, you have no idea. And that's knowing that today is significantly better, snot-wise (oh lawd), than yesterday. On the downside, my throat is significantly worse than yesterday, cue me not really sleeping last night because it felt like I was trying to turn my throat into sandpaper all night. My stomach muscles (ha, no really, I do have some) are all aching from all the coughing I've been doing /whiiiiiine.
I remain confounded/amazed/in awe that when I half-way lose my voice to squeaky sounds and pitching all over the place, cracking halfway through words, my family understands me better than normal. I'll keep up my regime of earl grey tea and honey and hope I'll regain some semblance of voice soon because this is getting old pretty quickly. My dad made me drink tea with rum in yesterday, which was a complete and utter failure due to a) it was more like rum with tea, b) rum is foul, c) tea and rum = foulness, d) THE FOULNESS. And I totally typed FOWL and stared at it for a minute before I realized something was wrong. What the eff, brain, come on, please to be firing on all cylinders soon.
The fever is not going down yet either and I believe I'm getting slightly delusional. One of my naps involved a frighteningly livid dream of the President of Germany, a hippo, Monza (which, in my defense, is slightly relevant seeing as it's actually ongoing, so shut up, and besides, Lotus' hashtag for this weekend is #Monzarella, how is this team so awesome?) and Captain America. Trust me, you do not want to know. I don't want to know. /weeps.
So I bought The Avengers on DVD and forced my family to watch it with me (perk #1 of being ill: getting to control the TV) and it's still as awesome as watching it thrice in the cinemas suggests. And I've been making my brother watch my Top Gear DVDs with me, because that never ever gets old, so if you want a laugh, here's what you need to watch:
/squeaky pitchy laugh
And you really have no idea how many times I've read this post through to save you from the most horrifying/hilarious typos. I miss my brain not being encased by snot.
ETA:
Accurate conversation #1:
Brother: So, did you write down what you need me to buy later? I have the list right here.
Rikke: No, I still *wheeze* ne-*crack*-ed to add the last *cough* ingre-*crack*-di-*squeak*-ents.
Brother: ...just write it down, alright.
Accurate conversation #2:
TV: I threw a wish in the well, don't ask me I'll never tell-
Rikke: I hate *cough* this *cough wheeze cough* song.
Brother: Me too.
Rikke: ...
Brother: ...
Brother: HEY I JUST MET YOU AND THIS IS CRAZY, BUT HERE'S MY NUMBER, SO CALL ME MAYBE
Rikke: /buys song on iTunes

The Haze creates a resulting wheeze and cough from me. Accompanied by streaming eyes and nose, and general ugh-ness. I hate it a lot.
*HUGS everyone in sympathy*

That being said, I hope you'll recover soon, being sick sucks balls, especially if it's the flu, because it just takes over your head and I personally hate when my head is being clouded by sickness! So, get well soon!
Also, TOP GEAR! ♥
.... also... dreams involving the president of Germany... just what is your brain doing to you??

I am almost right as rain now, my throat is still a bit iffy, but then again, my throat is almost always doing a variety of funny things, so I'm not too surprised. I need to keep it warm and then stop coughing because dear god, so tired of it.
I know, I know, my brain is weird on a good day and when I'm ill and feverish it all goes straight to hell. It literally cannot get worse LOL
So how are you!
