Drabble

Sorry for spamming, but Cally insisted.

Prompt: Yamapair, early morning sleepy

*

When the alarm clock goes off the first time, Sho thinks he’s going to die. So he hits snooze and dozes for another fifteen minutes, and he feels marginally more awake when the clock beeps again. He doesn’t even bother to reach out for Ohno, because he won’t be there. But the sheets and pillows beside him carries Ohno’s scent, though, and Sho sighs, stretching and settling into Ohno’s sheets, burying his face in Ohno’s pillow.

It feels like seconds later when cool fingers walk over his cheek, tapping his nose, and then there’s lips pressed to his jaw, tiny flutters of almost non-existent kisses.

Sho shivers.

“time’s it?”

Ohno chuckles, his breath tickling Sho’s throat, and he shivers.

“Coffee time,” Ohno mutters, his words disappearing into Sho’s skin and Sho tries to sling an arm around Ohno’s neck, but Sho doesn’t have the best coordination when he’s fully awake, so now, half asleep, he misses by a wide margin.

Ohno laughs and presses closer, nosing at Sho’s jaw line, and he obediently slides under Sho’s arm when he raises it.

“You’re warm,” Ohno says cleverly, completely squeezed up against Sho and he wriggles to get comfortable. “Too warm.”

“Don’t wriggle,” Sho complains, trying to scoot away but Ohno giggles and presses closer. When he reaches up and kisses him, it’s all strong coffee and toothpaste lurking and Sho grins. Ohno’s skin is fresh and clean from the shower and his hair is soft and still slightly damp, and Sho breaks away to bury his face in it.

“You’re too warm,” Ohno complains again and pushes away a bit, but Sho is awfully comfortable as they are.

Ohno pushes at his chest and slips away before Sho can tighten his grip. Reluctantly, Sho sits up, feels gravity (and the bed, honestly) pulling at him again, but he defies it, standing up.

Ohno’s eyes are laughing at him as he wobbles out of the bedroom and into the kitchen, and he swears at the bright lights.

“Why?” he whines, and even though Ohno doesn’t answer, he knows it’s because he’d go straight back to sleep if the lights were dim. He spots the steaming mug on the counter. “Coffeeeee.”

He sips at it and swears again, his burnt tongue feeling numb.

Ohno still isn’t saying anything, but he doesn’t need to. He smiles and shuffles into the bathroom.

A few careful sips later and Sho feels human. He spots Ohno on the way to the bedroom and Sho glances at the clock. He can count the times he’s been late on one hand, and never deliberately, but this morning, he finds that the morning’s meeting can wait just a few more minutes.
